How can I pay Andean Art for panama hats ?

.-You can make your payment via the following methods:

  1. Transfer of funds to our bank accounts in The United States or Ecuador More Info
  2. Western Union or Money Gram
  3. Credit Card via our online terminal 2checkout (only for purchase of samples) More Info
  4. L/C Comfirmed More Info

We consider credit card fraud a very serious criminal offense. If there is any doubt about an order placed, we will contact you via email or phone, so we can verify that it is valid. If we cannot resolve the suspect transaction we will cancel the order with no notice or correspondence sent.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept orders from Nigeria, Ghana, Indonesia, Romania, Malaysia, Singapore, West African Countries, (along with a few other countries) due to a high volume of prior fraudulent occurrences. We reserve the right to refuse any order we deem suspicious, fraudulent or unacceptable for any reason. We reserve the right to perform additional credit card security checks when deemed necessary.

What are the fees of wiring funds within U.S and Internationally?

Wiring funds within the United States and Canada is defenitively less expensive than wiring funds internationally, if you live in United States or Canada you can send your payment to our bank in The United States.

Fees for outwires vary from bank to bank, from 10-25 usd. For more information you must contact your financial institution.

If you live outside the United States, it is better to send your funds directly to our bank in Ecuador. Outwire schedules vary from bank to bank as previously mentioned, the average cost is 70 usd. Depending on the amount sometimes it is less expensive to use western union or money gram as they charge a percentage of the amount sent. While banks charge you a fixed fee for no matter the amount!

When will my straw hats and panama hat order be dispatched?

Important information can be found here!

Panama Hat and straw hats orders are processed in the order payment confirmation is received, that means we will start processing your order after having received your payment on one of our bank accounts. We supply many importers and distributors worldwide; we do not give priority to any specific order!

Merchandise is processed and dispatched in the order it was received. If the items and quantities you require are in stock they will ship within a week, otherwise they must be manufactured. It normally takes 2 weeks to dispatch 500 hats. If your order includes panama hats with finer weave or finer grade as well as XL sizes, they will take longer to process.

During some seasons we experience a high demand of our straw hats, specially during the three months prior  to summer and the three months prior to winter (Southern Hemisphere Summer). During these seasons dispatch time might take longer depending on the quantity you require.

Please remember we are a panama hat factory, not a retail store. We supply, many stores, hat shops, hatteries, but most of all, we supply wholesalers and panama hat distributors worldwide, who import large quantities during the year. If you are a new importer you might be suprised why this might take too long, but panama hats are not that simple to manufacture, they are genuine delicate pieces of art. It takes a weaver 1-2 days to weave a standard hat, for 300 hats we need about 40 weavers during one week. We work with many hundreds of weavers during the month.

All Panama Hat factories have problems with supply during these months, so we recommend you be patient specially if this is your first time you import in high season. However, in order to take advantage of our costs and be able to compete with other retailers in your country, this time and delay will be worth waiting for.

Nevertheless, we recommend you place an order at least 1 month in advance, or before the date you want your merchandise delivered in your home country!

If we have not exported to your country before, we might require some information aobut you and your business in order to quote shipping fee or air freight fees, as well as to get to know about current commerce treaties between your country and ours .

How will my panama hat and straw hats consignment be shipped?

All panama hat orders are shipped via Regular Ecuador Courrier, air freight by default!, This is the least expensive shipping method, but it is also the slowest delivery option. We have other shipping option which offers a quicker delivery service, but price varies in about 50%, so please be sure to take this into consideration when selecting the shipping method depending on your time requirements.

We also work with ocean shipping companies and major airlines for direct flights to country of destination, for more information contact us!

We may also forward the merchandise to your own shipping company or the company you select to ship your goods from Ecuador to your country. For detailed information you must contact us.

How can I track my panama hats consignment and packages?

If you have selected EMS as your default shipping method, you can track your panama hat cosignment directly from our website, click the link bellow!

Once you have checked out or comfirmed your straw hats have been successully dispatched from Ecuador, you must allow a couple of days for the corresponding National Post Office of The Country of Destination to pick up the merchandise and file it on the tracking page of their website.

Please remember that transit time is only the time it takes for your goods to arrive in your country, it does not include customs clearance processing time. Some customs offices in certain countries are very slow processing the entry of goods. You must do all the neccessary paperwork to clear customs as soon as your goods arrive.

Some clients complain about delivery time, but unfortunately we have nothing to do with customs in your country or the shipping company selected. These circumstances are out of our control, that is why we recommend you order in advance!

I am tracking my consignment but it does not show anything yet!

Our website is connected to the international shipping hub, it takes some time for the system to update our database, on our website you will only be able to confirm the date your items arrived at the international airport in Quito-Ecuador and the date it was embarked on a plane and left Ecuador.

Our panama hat factory is located in Cuenca in the southern part of Ecuador, the international airport is in Quito the capital city in the Northern Part of the country. All straw hats cosignments are sent via domestic flight to the international airport, tracking information will only show arrival and departure dates from the international airport in Quito-Ecuador.

Once you have checked out or comfirmed the consignment has been successully dispatched from Ecuador, you must allow a couple of days for the corresponding National Post Service of The Country of Destination to pick up the merchandise and file it on the tracking page of their website.

Depending on the country, they might show tracking details only when the goods have been released from customs or only after delivery confirmation. We recommend you get a bit more familiar with this process in order not to be exaggeratedly worried about your consignments when not being able to track them online.

How long will shipping my panama hats take?

Shipping straw hats packages and boxes varies depending on country of destination:

Via regular slow delivery courrier

  • NORTH, CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA: 15-20 DAYS
  • WESTERN EUROPE, UNITED KINGDOM: 20-25 DAYS
  • REST OF THE WORLD: 25 - 30 DAYS

Consignments are normally shipped by the cheapest method by default which takes this long, if you required a quicker more expensive shipping method, it should arrive in a couple of days.

Shipping time must be added to manufacture and dispatch time in order to have a total time approximation!

Sometimes due to circumstances out of our control shipping your panama hats might take a bit longer, Andean Art will however do its very best to dispatch your straw hats on time.

We strongly advice you place an order for panama hats at least a month in advance!

In some special cases shipping might take longer depending on the style of hats you require, please remember that panama hats are not machine made, they require time to be woven, we normally have plenty of hats ready to be dispatche, but since panama hats sell very fast, it is not uncommon to run out of stock, if your hats are not standard they must be manufactured and this requires time.

All of this makes a panama hat a genuine masterpiece, a quality product which is highly appreciated worldwide.

Yes!

It is absolutely compulsory to insure merchandise before shipping it overseas!

Do I have to pay duties when my panama hats arrive?

No and Yes ,

The United Status and Some European countries have 0% tariffs for goods imported from Ecuador, for more information contact us to let you know the exact percentage you will have to pay!

Depending on your country duties for straw hats will vary, however clearing customs is not complicated we ship all the information and documentation customs officers require with your merchandise in order to release your panama hats after paying duties.

Your telephone number is included in the package, when your panama hats arrive in your city an agent will contact you in order to advice you on how to pay duties for your hats.

You will not pay duties for panama hats if you are ordering only comercial straw hat samples, they are excluded from taxation! However, not all countries might have the same laws!

I want to pay panama hats via Letter of Credit L/C!

Letters of credit are recommended for large amounts of money involved in an international transaction, we do not recomend it for purchases under 30,000 usd as fees charged by banks tend to be very high!

However if you are a new customer and feel a bit reluctant about doing business with our enterprise, we will be glad to negotiate your payment method via L/C.

We will accept only confirmed L/C, contact your financial institution for schedules and additional information!
